Ren and Stimpy was a cartoon on Nickelodeon long before Spongebob Squarepants. Ren is a chijuajua dog, and Stimpy is a cat. It was very crass, hilarious, and some thought had some homosexual references. After all, they both lived together and had a "unique" relationship. They even had a comic book series for awhile.
