It's called "The Guardian" and it's by Nicholas Sparks. I really like all of the Nicholas Sparks books that I have ever read before.....but I just want to know if this one will be worth my time. I'm about 40 pages into it ans it hasn't really caught my intreat yet...should I keep going or is it LAME!!!!????

And no, to all the people that are gonna ask, this is not for a class or anything. Some teenagers DO like to read....just for fun.

If I remember correctly, "The Guardian" is about a woman whose husband died (it was expected) but before he passed he purchased a puppy for her, to be delived when it was weened from its mother. So the dog becomes her guardian - and he is needed because when she starts dating again, she has two options and one is not good (though she doesn't realize that right away). It is a typical chic book, and typically Sparks, because someone dies (which always happens in his books).

I tell my students to read a chapter of a book and, if they don't like it, move on to something else. There are so many wonderful books out there, why waste your time on one that you don't like? And good for you for being a reader.

Have you read any of the cat mysteries by Lillian Jackson Braun?

I think it`s the one about his brother....... I wasn`t impressed. Try, oh dear, well, I think it`s called "Like water for chocolate". Much better. Not by him.
