I am so sorry, I was totally there with my first pregnancy. I don't think you have the flu, I was 9 weeks pregnant when I got this sick too. I called my doctor and she told me to go to the ER. You need to go. They'll put an IV in you to rehydrate you and you'll feel soooooo much better. They'll also give you an anti-nausea medication so you'll be able to keep foods down. I could eat a little bit as soon as I left the hospital (be careful, eat stomach friendly foods to start). They also gave me a prescription for reglan, an anti-nausea medication that's completely safe to use during pregnancy and it doesn't wipe you out like some others do. Seriously, I had to pop that stuff like candy every 6 hours for the first 4 1/2 months because I was so sick. But it works great, and my son came out healthy and happy.
It's not good to get dehydrated, but don't worry too much about the baby. He or she is still VERY little and getting nourishment from you, that's why you're so sick. That little baby is just draining you of all you've got. They're resilient little things and he/she will hang in there as long as you take care of yourself, which right now means going to the ER. Then go home and get lots of rest.
Good luck! You'll feel better soon, I promise!

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. I have a little insight from my recent experience. I had not even missed my period when my morning sickness kicked in full force. Little did I know at that time I was carrying twins. However, they placed my on Zofran at 5 weeks. At 11 weeks, I was admitted to the hospital due to dehydration. I could not even keep the oral medications down. They gave me some fluids via IV and sent me home on this nifty little thing called a Reglan pump.
It's basically like a little IV that goes into your thigh or hip and you change out the syringes of liquid medication. It worked IMMEDIATELY. I got instant relief. I had lost 8 pounds when admitted to the hospital and was very dehydrated. Now at 16 weeks, I was just taken off the pump- no more morning sickness and I've gained back all the 8 pounds I lost plus 2 more :-)
I would honestly suggest that you call your doctor. If you cannot wait until tomorrow, call your local hospital that you plan on delivering at and tell them the situation. They will ask you to come in and place you on IVs to help you get your fluid levels back up.
Best of luck, and oh yes.. by the way- Congrats on your pregnancy!

See a Dr, to make sure you're not dehydrated and that you don't have food poisoning or the flu. If you check out OK and it's just morning sickness, try ginger ale (make sure you get the real stuff with ginger in it, not just the soda) and crackers and when I had horrible morning sickness my best thing was to make sure no matter what I ate every 3 hrs. Otherwise I would get hungry and nauseous all over again. Good Luck!

The same thing happened to me. Dehydration is dangerous to the baby and to you. You need to keep your electrolytes balanced and at this point you must go to the birthing center of your hospital and be put on an I.V. If you now have the runs it means your electrolytes are way out of wack. Try to sip Gatorade or another sports drink while on your way to the hospital. Keep warm. Suck ice chips. I know this seems dramatic but I did not realize how serious it was until the same thing happened to me. Once you get an IV and some gravol(which is harmless but ask doctor) then you will be fine. DO NOT TAKE MEDS until you ask a DR because what was fine for me, at my STAGE of pregnancy could be dangerous for you. NOW GO TO THE HOSPITAL.. I cannot stress this enough.

You might have a stomach virus and morning sickness too. If it doesn't get better soon I'd at least call the doctor. You may have to get an IV. Try some over the counter nausea medicine and if that doesn't help I'd call the doctor. I got dehydrated and passed out last summer and you don't want that.
I hope you feel better!

You need to have immediate injection of an ant-emetic to curb your emesis. You are perfectly right dehydration will be the end result if this continues. You may have some lavender oil and i suggest youi inhale this in the interim so you can get to a doctor without vomiting again.
There are proprietry lines you can get from a chemist for your loose bowels but they take time to work.
All in all you need urgent attention so don't delay girl get to your ER or doctor now!

I have been there. try drinking Gatorade and eating crackers. if you feel that you are getting dehydrated go to the hospital and they will give you liquids to rehydrate you. you have morning sickness and sometimes it can last for your whole pregnancy and sometimes it will last for only 3 months.
