Will putting on other polish over it to hide the stain seal the color in?

You really have to wait for it to come off. But there is this one special kind of soap called Fast Orange....you can get at stores like Werhung's, Home Depot (I think), and other hardware stores. It isn't a normal hand soap. It will get anything off! To stop this from happening again, don't use that nail polish. Use a nice quality Jordana Nail Polish. (www.bestbeautyonline.com)

Quite simple actually: Get yourself a buffer and lightly buff off the top layer of stained nail. You want to do it gently and don't buff off too much or too often. After getting off the stain, to avoid future staining always use a base coat polish before applying any color. This should solve your problem. If not, give it a few times of doing this over a month or two. If it still does not resolve, then I suggest seeing a doctor to make sure it is not a fungal infection.

The best thing is to just give it a few days. Usually with washing your hands, and showering it will help get it off. You could attempt to take it off more with polish remover at that point too. If you really want it off you could use a buffer to help. I wouldn't do this if you have weak or brittle nails, and stop doing it if you have to really file them. Next time use a base coat so the red polish doesn't sit directly on your nail. It will be a lot easier to get it off completely.

just leave it. the stain will fade. next time you use polish, put a base coat under it. that'll protect the nail. i've also heard to use some lemon juice on your nails as well. don't paint your nails until the color fades. it's going to look funny, but your nails need to breathe.

Use fingernail polish remover, if u have none, u may have to file it off with a fingernail file.
Better luck next time.
Next time put clear under the color.
