You can't go to therapy gay and come out not gay! Even alchoholics that go thru rehab are still alcoholics even if they never take another drink. It is the same with being gay. I have a brother that is and he was gay from birth.
It is really kind of sad that he just can't accept such a powerful part of who he is.

First off, the success rate for Alcoholics Anonymous is very, very low. Most people in AA have many times drank again while flip-flopping in the program. It's quite common, and many of them die because they can't grasp the part of the program that demands rigorous honesty.

Which brings us to Haggard.
That poor, poor man and his poor, poor wife and kids.
Sooner or later, Mr. Haggard will be drawn to his natural instincts again.
He can abstain.....like recovering alky's do, but, unless he is completely honest with himself and all his dealings in life, he will eventually hit the meth again and off he goes.

The denial continues, but even the people who are telling us he is straight don't really believe it. Based on the article, it seems clear a backroom conversation went like this:
"Ted, you are cured! Saved!
By the grace of God!
It's a MIRACLE!
But, we recommend you leave town forever and get the heck out of the church.
You know, just in case "God's miracle" doesn't hold up, and you go back to sneaking around with gay hookers and doing meth again... God forbid!"

The evangelical agenda says that gay people can turn straight & Haggard used to head the National Association of evangelicals,so Haggard has a motivation to lie and say that he turned straight in order to get back into the good graces of evangelicals

Whatever he decides to do, I just hope he's happy with himself. Also, I wouldn't want to live in his household, I can only imagine the silent mistrust that inevitably will be going on.
