Every labour is different. I was induced (waters broken) for both my children. Both labours were also drug free. I still don't know how I did it drug free, as I didn't think my pain threshold was that strong. My first labour was 7 hours & my second was 3 hours. The second delivery was made while I was standing in the shower. I had no stitches after either birth. Once I was 10cm dilated with both labours, it only took about 3-4 pushes for my babies to arrive. Once you've delivered, you forget everything you've just been through. The birth of a newborn baby is the most wonderful thing any woman can experience.

I thought giving birth was the best experience ever. You're not a woman until you've given birth at least once. It's something that nothing replace or fill the spot of in your heart. The contractions were a little painful...I'm not going to say it was pure bliss...but it's definitely something that I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience. I had an epidural at 10 cms which wasn't bad. I was able to deal with the pain all the way up until then and by the time I was ready to push you could already see the head, and I pushed my baby girl out in 26 mins. I didn't have a long labor either, and I wasn't as tired afterwards as most women are. I think the best part about being in labor was having my fiance there to support me and seeing his face when he pulled her out, and when they first handed her to him...it was just priceless. I'll never forget it.

aah not a question to ask if your pregnant yourself, no two pregnancies are alike you get some women who cough in labour and the babies out after an hour or so, you get others who after labouring into their second day still have to have a ceasearean to getthe baby out, my first birth was a catalogue of disasters, in the end through clinical negligence and after 70 hrs (it was logged as 20 hrs) i was rushed in to theatre with what the doctor told my mother would be a one or none situation, (if any only me ORthe baby would come back) it would be a miracle if they both survive, i was in a coma my sons heartbeat had stopped,, tyhankfully that miracle happened, my sons fine i was extremely ill afterwards though, then my second birth was an elected ceasearean i was awake right through actually holding my child after birth was a wonderful experience ( i never held my son til he was 6 days old even then i wasnt sure he was mine due to the drugs i was on) but alas my daughter was very weak and at 24 hrs old was put on a feeding tube and spent her first mnths in scbu it was heartbreaking she still has severe problems now also when they scanned prior to the op they noticed she hadnt grown since the scan three weeks before, having said all this my sister has four kids and on the first birth 3 hrs of labour she screamed once (and that was when she tore) the other three just popped out like peas 2nd was 2hr third was 3 1/4 hrs and last one was 30 mins in labour

With each of my kids I held the pain as logn as I could. It's nature for one thing and I wasn't about to do the thing women are built to do and not feel the whole effect of it. So I held up against the pain up until the last hour right before pushing.
It's hard, very hard for everyone. And different for everyone also. With each of mine I couldn't believe how strong I felt, it's just overpowering to see and go through it, to be able to bring a life into the world.
As painful as it was, and how much I can still feel it when I think about it, the first time I saw my baby, it was more worth it with every passing second. the pain is nothing compared to beign able to stand up and say, I became a mother today and hold your new baby.

Giving Birth is completely different everytime. It is painful but well worth it. After you have the baby and are holding him/her in your arms everything just goes away and it is the most amazing experience in the world. I didn't have any problems with my deliveries. My first was very easy and hardly any pain and my second was very painful because she was c9oming out face up and that made things really tough but other than that its not that bad, Obviously wasn't painful enough because I am pregnant again with my 3rd.
