who was the best beatles songwriter heres my opinion on them

paul: best voice, best all round musician, most out put,sgt peppers + magical mystery tours where his influence, seemed to be the driving force in the fact he was always writing and pushing the rest along to do concepts etc, wrote his best stuff around before white album seemed to have a lot more dislikable songs once he started dropping bass for piano and started to make more sappy ballads although some are great then some are just really bad

John: the best at songs that can change youre mood if sad his songs will lift you and vioce versa, the most unique voice, slightly overrated in contrast to paul?

george: i love everything hes done, possibly could have been the best if he wasnt being pushed aside by lennon/mccartney never know ,hes basically qaulity over qauntity, songs are the most experimental along side johns

ringo: sorry he isnt songwriter but a great co writer to all beatles songs

in my opinion paul but greater as 4

Even though it's not a popular opinion I think Paul was the better songwriter too. But that's the great thing about the Beatles, while Paul was great at crafting a song and structuring it so that it wasn't a jumbled mess, he left a lot to be desired as far as moving the song along. That's where John was so talented. He could come in and write a middle eight/bridge that just kicked the song into high gear, but by himself his songs didn't flow to well, they weren't as cohesive. Combine the two styles, though, and they were unstoppable. Best songwriting partnership ever, hands down.

John wrote most of the songs, and I think he had a really poetic way of writing. He had a beautiful voice!
Paul is my second favorite. He and John made a great songwriting team!
George was great too.
Ringo was a great co-writer.
You're right. Even if one person is quite good, the greatest is the four of them together. There's never been a band like them since.

John did out-write Paul, most specially during the early years during their rise to fame.
Then John kinda lost interest in The Beatles, so Paul surpassed him

Paul had a knack form writing what the people wanted,
but John could write what the people needed

I always thought that John brought out the best in Paul, and Paul brought out the best in John. Even after the break up, the competitive rivalry pushed them to try and outdo each other. When John died, so did Paul. I have never really like much of Paul's music after Johns death.

Always been a Paul fan (see blog), but this all boils down to personal taste.

Paul wins it handsdown it terms of broad appeal & overall musical versatility.

John gets it for clever wordplay & stark honesty. No BS writing. Unafraid to tell it like it is, damn the critics. TOTAL opposite of Paul who'd rather please the masses.

George gets it for pleasant, likeable, soft-edged spiritually-tinged lyrics.

Ringo might be 1st to admit he's a drummer 1st & a songsmith a distant 2nd.

I do love the Beatles, their music as a group. But for their solo work, my favorite is George.. his music is spiritual, honest, haunting...
