where is the thermastat in a 98 chevey cavalier?

What engine ????? 2.2 is up top . Follow the upper rad hose from the rad to the thermostat housing. 2.4 engine thermostat is located under the car on the back side of the water pump. If you have this engine with the auto trans take it in to have it replace as it is a bitc*&%* to do even for a tech on the hoist.
