I really want to get my nose pierced but first I want some answers from people who already have it.....

1. Does it hurt more than getting your ears pierced?
2. Did anyone's nose get infected after getting the infection?
3. is thier an obvious hole in your nose when you take out the piercing?

Thanks.

I've had my nose pierced for 14 years.
#1. it doesn't hurt once it's pierced, just throbbed a bit.
#2. Keep it clean by cleansing with a cotton soaked in peroxide
#3. the hole is very small when you take it out. people don't even notice mine when I don't wear my nose ring..

I didn't have mine done the normal way - with a hollow needle...I had mine done with a disposal ear piercing gun. I had my hubby do it...I do find that having it done that way tends to cause less scarring because it doesn't take out a section of tissue. You are not supposed to do it with an ear gun though. It is highly uncomfortable shoving it up there and it doesn't reach as well as the needle/cork method used by body piercers...

Essentially the nose is cartilage so it hurts as much as a piercing done on the cartilage part of the ear.

You just have to properly clean the piercing and it is generally pretty easy to keep from getting infected. It doesn't migrate like other piercings.

It will sometimes leave an indent where the hole closed up if you opt to let it close up...

Good luck...

It does hurt a lot more than you ears ( considering that you got your lobe pierced). At the nose there is more cartalge and it has to be doen manually. Basically not with a machine. My piercing didnt get infected, but my friends did. She didnt take care of it though. Makes sure the area is always clean and they should sell some form of liquid sea salt to help cleanse it and heal. When I took mine of it did leave a slight hole. ANY further questions I would ask the wokers at the shop where your getting it pierced at, before they do it.

It hurts when you get it pierced but not as much as you might think. I never regretted mine cause I liked the way it looked. I used bactine and a q-tip to clean 3 times a day, you just let the q-tip absorb the bactine and clean around the ring, then use the other side of the q-tip and clean inside your nostril. I didnt have any type of life-threatning pain just a little discomfort when i cleaned but it came and went. And sneezing does not make it hurt. My only thing about it getting caught anywhere is, mine got caught on my compact sponge and it hurt like nothing in this world. It was the third day that I had it on, but other than that I enjoy it. I think you should do it, if you dont like the way it looks or cant handle the pain take it out and at least you had it and tried.

a hollow needle does not remove a piece of tissue. it cuts a cresent shaped hole and stretches it open for the jewelry. yes it usually will leave a scare because your putting a hole into cartilage which cannot regenerate the way skin will. it hurts enough to make your eyes water thats about it

1. Nope.

2. Nope.

3. Sort of. Eventually had to let it grow back b/c they weren't allowed at my job and you could see it, even with a clear plastic fill.
The hole is tiny, so no obvious unless someone is standing right next to you.
