What exactly is a pure bloodline??
Maintaining a "pure bloodline" is a load of crap. It implies that a family history has never been mixed with another bloodline...that kind of thinking is an excellent recipe for incest. It's wrong and twisted.
I'm much happier with an endless mix of options rather than marrying a second cousin!
I've raised my children not to see colour. I'd commit suicide if one of my children grew up to be a racist.

I agree. Its weird. Which is more prejudice? Celebrating different cultures and ethinicities or working to truely mold the different races into an indistinguished race?
I mean, I respect everyone and their beliefs. But if whites, blacks, asian, middle-eastern all continue to breed amongst each other, then perhaps one day we will be rid of racism all together, because it will be too difficult to distinguish one person's heritage to anothers.
But, many races want to preserve their culture, their identity, their heritage....and they have that right as well.
So, perhaps we will eventually mold into one race, but it'll probably be a very long and slow process. And I'm talking thousands of years. So, I guess for now, I don't have to really concern myself with that question.
People are going to get freaky with whoever they choose to get freaky with. And that's how it ought to be.

I'll be glad if it actually does then there won't be any race descrimination and the issue of affirmative action won't be so complicated. I come from a mixed heritage and I love it, I am black, Irish, German, and Native American. My children are mostly Finnish and German because their dad is white, and my daughter looks hispanic. God did not create races, he created Adam and Eve, just two people, and then there was the Noah and the Ark with only his family surviving... if you look to the Bible, and even if you don't there's no denying the similarities.... and besides, if anyone's family has been in America for more than 200 or so years there's bound to be Native American blood in them.

This is not a recent phenomenon- It has been going on for centuries. You'd have to see how the people along the coasts of the continents where trade was taking place look like. For example, the Portuguese and Spaniards have been mixing with people from Lisbon to the Southern tip of India. Just one small example. We're talking a few centuries ago!

I think it's a shame that so much race-mixing is destroying the unique qualities of each race.
Race is a genetic trait, but it also plays an important part in culture. If everyone mixes into some kind of who-knows-what race, you'll end up with a monoculture. Maybe you think that would be nice, but some of us still appreciate true diversity and would like to see races and cultures preserved.

Race is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT, not biological. In fact, often there is more biological genetic variation *within* races than there are between races. Additionally, there are no genetic traits that are unique to one "race".

I am one of those people who believes that even if you could eliminate one "-ism", there is always another to take its place. People tend to want to categorize, assign roles to themselves and the people around them. People will just find another level on which they can distinguish a difference and will create "-isms" based on that characteristic.

Race has never really existed. The differences were always cosmetic, so I think that any blending is fine especially if it lessens perceived differences and tensions.

That's great. I think science is starting to catch up with the bible and stating that there are no other races, just the human race.

There is a group of african-americans that support illegal immigration because they believe that mexicans mixing with whites and blacks will cause the "browning of america" and we will all be better off as one race. i disagree with this. i think race, just as gender, should be celebrated and appreciated. I'm a WASP and am damn proud of everything my people have accomplished here in america, just as others should be proud of their background. destroying those differences would be a terrible thing.
