Movie files from PC to PS3?

Question

If I get a flash drive, can I transport movie files from my PC to my PS3 if I convert them in a right way? Or will a memory stick only do that? Will the PS3 recognize the movie if I put it one a flash drive? If not can someone recommend a cheap media storage with enough memory to transport movie files from the PC to the PS3?

bluetooth is the answer, with a blue tooth doggle,. try transfering files directly between the machines, might work with a bit of fiddling

4gb usb attachments are available, 8gb are out there if you can find them.
