iTunes is a program. You do not need to have an apple account, if thats what you mean.
All you have to do is find out where your WMP songs are located (which folder...) and you have to go to iTunes.
Files > Add Folder To Library...
Then choose your folder, and iTunes will add them to your library, which then will be copied to your iPod.
You can go to your iTunes preferences to uncheck "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to library" under the advanced tab. Preferences is under Edit.
If you uncheck that feature, your songs will not be copied, but if you do, your songs will be copied to another folder (copied as in duplicated, they will not be deleted on your WMP library)
Good luck.

Yes there is a way. Have you downloaded itunes yet? If you haven't then do so and set up your account. When you first open itunes on your account on your computer there will be a question to the extent that "Would you like to combine windows media player with itune?". Click yes and then don't exit itunes or the media player and do not shut down the computer till this process is completely done. Good luck!

Music is stored in a folder usually called "my music". Any media player can access it and create a play list. The music is not in a Media Player. Multiple media players can have the same music as input. Just start iTunes and have is read "my music", assuming that is where everything is. Then you can load it to the iPod.

you just make sure the music is saved some where on your computer and then go to itunes click file and go to add file to library and put the songs on. or you can burn a CD from windows media player and then when the audio disc comes up on itunes click import songs from cd (after you select the cd from the side bar)
