Cute, and can be toby for short.
Actually, this is my dog's name. It isn't really a "dog's name" (you know, like max, or spot, or rover, etc....), so don't be offended. I like man names for dogs, it was between toby and malcolm. My dog is really old and if he is passed when I have a son I'm definately using the name.

I think Tobias is a great name, it was actually what I was thinking of calling my baby boy, but went with Zachary instead. The main reason I didnt do is because my partner did not like the name : (
However, when we told people we were thinking of naming him Zachary we found there were a few people who didnt really like the name, even my dad!
But we liked the name so much we went with it anyway. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you like that name and are confident with your descision, what does other peoples opinions matter? I can understand where youre coming from, but once that baby is out everyone will love him regardless of what hsi name is : )

Forget the people that don't like it, Tobias is a gorgeous name! Although I don't like the name Anthony that much. I prefer the name Aaron, but Aaron doesn't really go with Tobias, so I guess you're right there.

The name may not sound great to a few or many, but who cares? For as long as both parents agree on this and you can answer your son when he asks you in the future, "Why did you name me Tobias?". I have four kids and all of them asked me the same question. At some point, I would hear them say " I should have my sister's name" or "I like the name ____ better." But when we told them how they were named and the significance of their names, I did not hear the same comments again.

I was considering this name for when I have a child, but I found a variation that is a little more current. Have you ever heard the name Tobin? It has the same sound and you can still call him Toby if you want to. Tobin (or Tobias) means "God is Good" in Hebrew.

Yeah I love the full name but you should really change it to Toby,it really goes better with the other two names.Anyhow if you do go with Tobias everyone will call him Toby anyway and he will prefer that so be the winner here and call him Toby before everyone else does.

Tobias is a very strong name for a boy, but people will shorten it to Toby (which is not nice as its very dog like)

Tobias would be shortened to Toby and the kids would call him Toady.
If you like it, who cares what others think?

Don't personally like it and the only person I've met called Tobias really hated it, but if you like it then more power to your elbow.
