who was the best beatles songwriter heres my opinion on them

paul: best voice, best all round musician, most out put,sgt peppers + magical mystery tours where his influence, seemed to be the driving force in the fact he was always writing and pushing the rest along to do concepts etc, wrote his best stuff around before white album seemed to have a lot more dislikable songs once he started dropping bass for piano and started to make more sappy ballads although some are great then some are just really bad

John: the best at songs that can change youre mood if sad his songs will lift you and vioce versa, the most unique voice, slightly overrated in contrast to paul?

george: i love everything hes done, possibly could have been the best if he wasnt being pushed aside by lennon/mccartney never know ,hes basically qaulity over qauntity, songs are the most experimental along side johns

ringo: sorry he isnt songwriter but a great co writer to all beatles songs

in my opinion paul but greater as 4

I totally agree with your explanation. Paul. Its Paul. He has done weird stuff in his solo career, but gosh, he's still a creative genius. Many songs after the White Album were not as good...I don't suppose we can blame any one of them. We'll blame the drugs : )

It's like asking who's your favourite kid.

Lennon and McCartney wrote beautiful music together, they did great music separately, but together they were this baby boom generation's answer to Rogers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Lowe, Kander and Ebb.

Harrison although a powerful songwriter wasn't up to Lennon and McCartney's genius.

During the reign of the Beatles, I'd say Lennon (barely, though). Solo, I'd have to say McCartney.
They were both about love and peace. What more could you ask for from great songwriters and musicians than to promote love and peace? Eh?

Hands down, John Lennon.

I think most would agree, particularly with the answer combining efforts of John and Paul.

It is difficult to think John's insightful creative talent had run out when he settled in NYC. We must wonder what the last 27 years, during which he has been silent, might have produced.

George could have been. In the early years, his writing was as good as Paul's and less irritating than John's. But when they pushed him out and he got into his mystical phase, his writing lost direction. It is a great loss.

No, I think it was definately Lennon. McCartney writes pop music and lyrics, but Lennon's were classic.
