No, there are no Girl Scouts or Girl Guides in China. China is not one of the 27 Asia and Pacific countries that are a member of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts).

To see a list of members in this region, visit http://asia.wagggsworld.org/en/organisations

Yes. They are called Girl Guides. All Girl Scouts and Guides are members of WAGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts).

The reason that only Americans are scouts and not guides is because when Juliette Gordon Low (founder of Girl Scouts in America) started Girl Guides troops, she was criticized because instead of having tea parties and "proper" girl activities, she had her troops engage in camping and basketball (which was deemed "unladylike") She made it her joke and changed the name of her troop from Girl Guides to Girl Scouts after the Boy Scouts. It stuck!

There is no group which is affiliated with WAGGGS (the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts http://www.wagggsworld.org ) located in Mainland China (People's Republic of China - or PRC). There are Girl Guides in Taiwan (Republic of China - or ROC) and in Hong Kong. These are local organizations who have belonged to WAGGGS for a long time. http://asia.wagggsworld.org/en/organisations

Since there are no Girl Guides nor Girl Scouts in the PRC, WAGGGS has no rules about other organizations meeting there. So, there are indeed USA Girl Scouts Overseas (USAGSO) in the PRC and there are also British Guides in Foreign Countries (BGIFC) there. Depending on the local resources and adults familiar with those programs, they may or may not let local girls join (they may be open only to girls attending specific schools with expatriates, etc.)

USAGSO currently has Girl Scout troops in Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shekou, Tianjin, and Zhuhai. They may be in a couple of other locations as well. Any girl who is an American can join GSUSA from anywhere in the world. We have a “single registration” program for girls who are living where there are no Girl Scout troops (anywhere in the world!) To check for current locations of troops and to find out more about USAGSO go to http://www.girlscouts.org/who_we_are/global/overseas/committees/asia_pacific.asp

BGIFC has Girl Guides in Shanghai. To see a current list go to http://www.bgifc.org.uk/birthdays.html

There are also USAGSO and BGIFC groups in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Without playing games, don’t be available 100% of the time or let your life be an open book. A man that comes on too strong or doesn’t have outside interests will scare a woman away just as much as it would if the circumstances were reversed. Read here http://AttractAnyWoman.emuy.info/?Z3dq

Women don’t want to feel as though they are completely responsible for your happiness and that is what it feels like when the other person has no outside interests. Men who are overeager or jump when the woman says jump are the ones who are more likely to end up in the friend zone. This doesn’t mean that you should play the game of not calling for a few days; it means that you should set healthy boundaries until you both naturally find a spot for the other in your lives.
