Yes and no.

I mean its celebrated but I've never heard of anybody any where having the day off. In the countries where its celebrated, its a nice tradition.

I could answer this question it all starded with this manit was many many many years ago his name was "VALENTINO"and when he was living hundreds of years ago a couple cold not get married and that was against the law i know it was kind if weird.You could do more search in yahoo on the webs just go to "valentines day history" yea also thers lots of books of it.

it's not a holiday as in president's day or christmas because the post office doesn't close for it. and my husband and i don't celebrate really because i'm not into flowers and candy and all that crap. i'm content with a greeting card but that's just me. to some women it is THE holiday.
