With a healthy Tracy McGrady, and Yao coming back fresh for a run, I think they are serious contenders!

McGrady has dominated lately, he is back to the form he had with the Orlando Magic. If Yao can come back with the same form he had earlier this season and we can actually see a healthy Yao and McGrady together (for once!!!!) then they may stand a chance.

Unfortunately a glaring hole at power forward won't help much.

they have a huge gamble to win the call, and that they seem to be a teach-in for a large team to video demonstrate. T-Mac would be left out. You forgot to indicate that the Rockets have an experienced coach with a large form of wins under his belt. The Yao harm issue is truthfully understood via him. he's been there. he's done that. he's have been given the T-shirt. i may be chuffed in the event that all of them get rings out of the deal. If no longer, Rocket followers can nonetheless stand proudly. source: long term Kings fan from the stable ol' days....

Techinically they can win the NBA title if they went to the finals, seeing as how every team in the West is better than the best team in the East. Too bad Houston would get destroyed by Utah or Phoenix.

Absolutely not! Yao is a premier center and Mcgrady is a superstar but they dont have IT. The heat had IT last season, Yao needs to be a lot more aggresive and then we can talk about western conference finals.

I don't think they are deep enough to win. Also, their chemistry is shady at best. I am not sure they have all the pieces to compete with Phoenix, Dallas, and San Antonio in a 7 game series. I like Houston but I think it will be another year or two before they are serious contenders.

The Rockets have no chance. Either Dallas or Phoenix will come out of the West. Asking Houston in win a road game in either of those two places in the playoffs is asking too much.

You know Houston is good but they are in the west and haven't got a chance against Dallas and Phoenix. But don't you know all the rest of the league must just hate coming to Texas and playing the three of us.

IF McGrady can stay healthy. I don't think he will. He always has back spasms. Unfortunately, that is a problem that will plague him for the rest of his career. Because of that, and other factors, namely Dallas and Pheonix, I don't think Houston has a chance.
