Suppose you are testing the effect of a drug on the heart
rates of experimental rats. What are the independent and
dependent variables? Are they discrete or continuous
variables? What type of graph would you use to plot your
results?

The independent variable is the amount of drug, the dependent variable is the heart rate.

I assume you would be using discrete levels of the drug, because you can't slowly ramp up the amount of drug in the system. As such, you would get discrete values for the heart rates of the rats.

A line graph or bar graph would be appropriate.
