Ex: Your friend saw your girlfriend hugging a man, but did not know that man was her brother, and your friend called you to tell you,
So all you see is not what it really is, and what someone tells you, is not all ways the real truth.

I believe the phrase you 'meant to write' is 'Believe nothing that you see, half of what you hear and all that you know' ... and I also think that it is more 'right' than 'wrong' generally, but it doesn't 'work' nearly as well in 'action' ... because how do you know that NOTHING you see is 'real' or 'right' and how do you tell that 'half' of what you hear is right, or which is right and which is wrong, and I've been 'taught to believe' a lot of things that I know are NOT TRUE ... but I also think that the phrase means 'THINK about EVERYTHING you see, hear, or know' and you'll always have an 'open mind' that can accept the most seemingly 'impossible things' that you 'can't believe in' when you just 'see them' ...

I think it's nothing you hear, 1/2 you see, and all you know.
It means trust yourself, not what others tell you. And that your eyes can be deceiving.

Essentially, it means question your belief system and don't take everything at face value.
