Wayne Gretzky.
Why? because although I am a Canucks fan Wayne didn't just dominate the game at all levels when he played he also reinvented the game in such ways like scoring goals was important but being able to read the open ice and makes passes like he id was just as cool as being the leading goal scorer.
He also single handily saved ice hockey on the west coast of America when his trade to LA turned a sad and unwanted purple and yellow Kings into the sell out capacity crowds of the silver and black. This in turn created the warm climate teams in the USA like the Sharks, Ducks, Panthers, Canes, Coyotes.
All the above and he is the ultimate role model for kids in the game and fans alike. There has been great players in the NHL for sure but never another Gretzky (unless ..... Crosby? :-) )

My favorite team is he Washington Capitals. Why? Mainly because i grew up in Maryland and they were the closest team. My favorite player is Alexander Ovechkin. Why? Ovechkin has done something for Washington that I have't ever seen. He's made people talk about the Washington Caps all around the world. This in my eyes is a big accomplishment for the Caps because I've seen so many losing seasons. But that doesn't make me like them less because a true fan stays with their teams through good time and bad and for the love of the game!

Robert Gordon Orr, aka Bobby Orr, the Boston Bruins, Orr played in the OHL at age 14 and commuted from Perry Sound Ontario to Oshawa where he shined with the Generals, He then entered the NHL at the age of 18 and won every trophy possible to an NHL player outside the goalie. Hey even Gretzky didnt win the ConnSmythe nor the Norris, ORR did. The Bruins have never given up in any game ever and thats why I love my Bruins.

Iggy, Calgary Flames.
Because Calgary is the city where I learn about hockey. I have watched them since I was a lil kid and I was there when they didn't make the playoffs 7 years in a row and I still cheer for them. Even they 'unforunately' lost to Tampa few years back, I know our team is going to bounce back and play as well as we are now. Sutter is a smart man, and you can see how our team in 04 and now has major differences on the roster, but hey, we are still on top and this time around in the playoffs, we won't let it go as easy as last year.

My favorite hockey player is Sidney Crosby from the Pittsburgh Penguins!!!Pens are my favorite team too.

Easy: Brian Rolston of the Minnesota Wild.
He's got a wicked slapshot and isn't afraid to use it on a breakaway. He's a team player, plays both ends of the ice, and has excellent work ethic. He's supported his local community in NJ, Boston, and now Minneapolis -- overall, a good role model.

The Calgary Flames.
Their new style of play this year I would have to say is definetly one of the most exciting in the league. Im not saying that i didn't like their old style (the old bump n' grind) before this year, but now they have a great combination of speed (Mat Lombardi), finess (Kristian Huselius), rough play (Dion Phaneuf), great goaltending (Miikka Kiprusoff), great passing (AlexTanguay) and one of the leagues top players (Jarome Iginla). It seems that the Flames are in an excitng game every day, and I can't get enough of it.

New York rangers, dont watch anymore. Hockey is boring there are no more Domi's,Langdon, proberts , Kocur, or any other character players in the league. No colorful guys, Barnaby is the last of a breed. The sport is boring and european. Fav all time George McPhee was my idol. Small guy who foght anyone who messed with his team...

My favourite player is Joe Sakic because he is a Stanley cup winner and a true captain to Canada and the avalanche. He is also one of the best players in the history of hockey ,his wrist shot is unmatched
