i get called that alot, and i personally take it as a compliment because, well that is just who i am, but i want to know if its actually a bad thing?
i like being called that, its who i am, what i believe...i was definatly born in the wrong decade lol...I have just heard it used as a derogatory term...

no it's not bad at all! I'm a hippie too! Some people just don't like hippies. But it's not a bad word against us, it justs sums up all of what we are.

I tend to use it that way, but mainly to wind up my wife, who is an ex-hippy.
