i think we should restore any country destroyed for decades by their own gorvernment. i also think its a good idea to deal with this aformentioned country on their own land, not ours, with trained soldiers fighting terror, instead of untrained citizens. if you find it 'very difficult to believe that the only reason that we are at war is because of freedom', then i ask you, for whose freedom are we fighting? our work in Iraq will establish a firm government in a country that will grow to become a strong ally for years to come, and will prevent them from attacking America in its homeland. i find your question pathetically narrow-minded, might i recommend finding sources to back up your feeble questions next time you attempt to ridicule the army that is fighting and dying to promote your own freedom.

NO. If people ask us to help, we should do what we can, within reason. But the very term "babysit" implies that all other countries are babies, and to treat them as such is condescending and interfering.

The U.S. should intervene when a government engages in human rights violations or genocide. Also, when there are humanitarian concerns like starvation or plague. Short of that we shouldn't force ourselves on any nation.
