Do you think we are distracted so that we do not notice that there is ZERO democracy in this country. Are we being distracted so that we don't notice that Corporate CEOs make 800 times the salary that almost everyone else does? Are we being distracted so we will not organize and demand justice?

Ah, but if we were truly powerless, they wouldn't have to intentionally distract us, would they? My theory is close to yours. I think that the "medias" (plural, because Fox News and MSNBC are very different) distract people so that we will not recognize and embrace our power.

Absolutely. Look at the inane, irrelevant, and dopey top recent "news stories" -- the crazy astronaut, the runaway bride, shark attacks, cold weather, celebrity weddings, Natalie Holloway. And the idiot populace believes this is hard news!
