Yeah i think. I saw this one show where this womon hated black people and she said that she was beat as a child and I think she was just taking her anger out on black people. Yeah, I think that's the reason.

I believe it is the upbringing in the younger years that determines many racial tendencies. If your parents are always saying negative things of other races than you are most likely to have that in your mind before ever giving them a chance. It is also possible that something was done to you by another race and you hold all of them responsible. I am not a racist person at all and feel that people that think they are better because of race are truly ignorant.

Xenophobia. People are scared, at a visceral level, of things that are different.
For some people, racism is an advantage. South African whites got rich off of the backs of blacks, and it's a cheap way for politicians to scare people. Some people have an interest in making sure other people become/stay racist.

Depends on the racists.
Ironically they are not all the same.
Also the assumption that once a racist always a racist is false too.
The world is full of conflicts that breed racial tension.
People have bad experiences.
People live sheltered lives.
I doubt it is a sociapath thing in general tho. Its far too common in some societies.

I think it's all of the above, but mostly upbringing. If your parents are christians, most likely their kids will be the same. If parents talked about other races and cultures as they are lower than them, most likely, kids will grow up believing what their parents talked about at home. However, it's not always the case. There is always an exceptions.

Sailcatt Speak for yourself. As latinos we are not taught to hate anybody. Puerto Ricans are a very diverse people. I have cousins as white and blue-eyed as any white person and some as black as Jesse Jackson. We tend to be more accepting of people. So speak about your white point of view and leave the Latinos to speak for themselves.......
P.S. you left one characteristic of a racist out...STUPIDITY
