I bet your running norton. Its rubbish. I have had problems with mine before were firewall switches off along with live update.

Some legit programs and Malware will turn off the firewall.

Spybot Search and Destroy will detect the Windows Firewall being turned off. You can then have it fix the problem.

Go into "My Services" & check your Firewall setting. It may be that it's not switched on correctly. Alternatively, run a virus & spyware check.

You could have a virus which is switching it off for you. Get a good anti-virus (McAfee or Norton) and also install and run Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy (these run in batch periodically rather than constantly like an AV program).

Norton and McAfee are absolutely rubbish, they are considered bloatware (will slow your computer down needlessly).

Install a better antivirus (AOL Active Virus Shield is a good one), then re-enable the firewall.

I had that problem,turned out an other security programme was in conflict with my windows fire wall .Chec this first in your windows security centre in control panel in start up .

someone has broken into your computer with spyware go to microsoft websit and download MSI and let it check your computer for spyware. or go to downloads.com and download a sypware checker. take care Heather
