Someone told me that Sweden and Norway were once 1 country. I want to know when they became 2 different countries and what the 1 country was called.

Norway separated from Sweden in 1905. Before separation, they were really still two countries, just that Norway wasn't independent in foreign affairs.

They were in what is called "personal union," since both were ruled by the same King.

As far as I can tell, since they werre two countries with two separate governments klinked only by a common monarch, they did not have a join t name. Just "Sweden" and "Norway"

For may years until 1905 Norway was ruled by Sweden.
From 1380 to 1814 it had been united to and latterly a province of Denmark but in 1814 Denmark gave Norway to Sweden but kept Norway's island colonies.

Norwegians resent Swedes to this day. Visit Norway on May 17 and see how they celebrate Constitution Day!

Interestingly enough, it was called "Union between Sweden and Norway"

How romantic. It didn't last long.

White americans are more likely to have native american and/or african ancestry. The U.S. also has warmer regions, so naturally, people are more likely to tan (as opposed to cloudy Scandinavia and Germany)
