Definitely the 1st year he's eligible. No question about it.

In 2006 he signed with the San Francisco 49ers so he could "retire" where his home was. So in a few years he will be eligible, but no doubt a first rounder.

He will be enshrined as soon as he is eligible, 5 years after he retired.

if he actually did sign in 06 w/the 49ers then his first-ballot induction will be in feb 2012 (as 06 season +5= 2011 season, then the next Feb)

He retired at the end of 2005....so five years would be 2010? He's going in on his first year of eligability...that's for damn sure.

When he becomes eligible, I think it is 5 years from the retirement.
