I want to sell an engine from my old car... but how do I ship such a large item? I know that "pick up" is an option, but I think I will have more interested people if I ship...

I would list it both ways "Pick Up" and "Shipping Available" to get the largest exposure. Also check out the eBay Motors site. http://www.motors.ebay.com/

eBay's Freight Resource Center provides tools to calculate shipping rates and arrange shipment for items over 150 pounds to assist their customers.

You can get an LTL carrier to ship an engine for you. LTL means less than truckload. Companies that do this are CCX, TNT Holland, etc You can look at UShip.com too and they can help you save money on shipping something like an engine.
