It all depends on the spec. of the laptop (especially the graphics card) and what the game requirements are.
Unless you have an amazing laptop I'd think that you wouldn't be unable to play most of the recent games

Ofcourse you can. a laptop has the same configuration as a pc but just smaller in size but you do need to becareful of one thing. No matter how similar a laptop is to a pc, it is not as powerful and becomes hot pretty fast. im not saying dont play pc games on laptop but dont over play it like u can play on a pc or u can fry your vidoe card or more serious, your motherboard.

Yes, no problem - as long as the graphic card is fast enough. But more important do you have enough memory? Try right clicking your taskbar and bringing up task manager. Click performance and that will give you some idea of how much memory you have and how much you use for anti-virus and stuff that stays in memory all the time. A lot of PC's only have 250 Mb of memory. I'm using over 600Mb now and only have IE and Outlook Express and my anti-virus running. Then MSN IM and a Little calender and roxio - they all take up memory - especially Roxio - considering it's doing nothing.

Yes, but the sounds and graphics capabilities are in general less than on a desktop.
High end laptops will play most games fine.

Absolutely you can. But it depends strongly on the power of your lap top. Especially the graphics card.
You can get away with a lot of MAME (arcade emulator) games on older laptops and of course games like doom and heretic (which are still fun to play). But for modern games you need a very powerful laptop (looking at 500 quid plus)

If it's a laptop which runs Windows, then yes! No problem. You just need to make sure that you have the correct operating platform (eg Windows 98 or some such)
