Mainly because either they haven't heard of the party or else they are too lazy to do the research to find out what it's all about. I told a friend that if anything I'm Libertarian. He was of the impression that Libertarians are akin to fascists. He's not the only one whom I've heard that from either. So mainly it's about exposure. I vote Libertarian every chance I get.

For two reasons. The first is that no third party has a real chance given the existing system. And most people are more interested in trying to get SOMETHING DONE than in tilting at windmills.

The second reason is that the "libertarian party" isn't much more than an apologist for big business. Sorry--I am philosophically mostly libertarian myself--and if th e Libertarian Party was true to its name (and the philosophy it started with, I'd be more sympathetic)--but no one wants to here excuses for the abuses of those in power. And that's about all the Libertarians are good for anymore.

No Clout and proven track record also the Democrats and Republicans have successfully scavenged their ideas. The late Barry Morris Goldwater(1909-1998)was a Conservative Libertarian Arizona Republican US Senator before John Sidney McCain III took over the torch. McCain has extinguished it thus he IS not a disciple of Goldwater. He will go by the way Joe Bidden who IS taking STUPIDITY lessons from the long winded and a bore ZZZZZZ sorry I almost went into a deep sleep,I am trying to say John Forbes Kerry the junior United States Senator from Massachusetts. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ huh? did I write John KerryZZZZZZZZZZZ

Libertarians aren't middle of the road at all. They tend to be fiscal conservatives who advocate the free liberties but tend to take exception to the other party platforms such as drug platform and not paying for public education. Or they are from the other end of the spectrum who are liberal socially but don't buy the fiscal realism.

Libertarians tend to be one extreme or the other, not middle of the road. Part of the problem is finding a candidate to bridge the gap who doesn't sound like a moderate Republican.

Because the Republicans and Democrats have a stranglehold on the media and other sources for making it a level playing field. The thing is, they won't let America get a chance to consider the other options, because they are greedy and powermad. The US could stand having three more parties in the mix.

Libertarianism is extremist. No CIA, no foreign wars, no foreign aid, minimal federal government, no American super-power, no welfare, no Social Security, no restrictions on abortion. It's a silly political party. Thank God it's unpopular.
