Yes we should . I suggest the best distancing method would be to ensure that all uk troops are confined to the uk and the americans are left in Iraq to sort the mess out themselves.

Maybe the British people should have sat down and noticed a strange coincidence:

In 1991 some British FACs told a US pilot that there were no friendly vehicles in a certain area. The Pilot relied on this information and several British soldiers died.

in 2003 some British FACs told a US pilot that there were no friendly vehicles in a certain area. The Pilot relied on this information and a British soldier died.

It appears that the British response in both incidents was to blame the Americans.

I have watched the film of the "Friendly air attack" every time it has been on TV, and from what I have seen and heard, these pilots had never been in combat before, and they were assured by their headquarters that there were no friendly forces in that area. Given that information, they decided it must be an enemy target. It was only after the attack that one of the pilots said that he could see the orange tops of the vehicles. I am not offering excuses for what happened, but look at it from the pilots position acting on the information he was given by his headquarters.

Do you have any connection to anyone in the Forces at all? How have you been affected? If not, quit trying to stir up trouble with provocotive questions, t*t end.
You starred your own question - up yourself too.
You really are not worth the effort of a response - but, it's my Country too - don't you dare drag it down with your bigotted bull - Your as bad as all of the others busy trying to destroy this Countries reputation - You *reckon* you have served this Country - Act like it then. Don't ever question my loyalty again.

We should have done the first time it happened. Usually the first British troops to get killed are killed by Yanks.

The Americans have always been trigger happy. We should find a more graphic description for killing your allies than 'Blue on Blue.' which accepts its gonna happen.

If the Yanks "distanced" themselves from the Brits during WWII they (you) would all be speaking German today and goose stepping down Trafalga Square.
