Damn imaging how scary that is for a man. I think is its' like a 95% chance women will always say yes to a man. And a 98% chance men will say no. I would want to ask, but I couldn't imagine asking my husband. I'm glad he asked me, cause that's the only sure way you know a guy is seriously in love with you. I think its' so special when a man proposes cause he believes he's ready for true lifetime faithful commitment to you. (It's especially special if he's never cheated on you. )A man proposing lifetime commitment is something that is extremely difficult for most guys to feel for one woman. Even with the best heart there usually always a chance a man will cheat. But proposal and marriage means he truly wants to try his best not to with you; he believes your love for each other has changed him. Woman who propose are very brave. I don't think there is anything wrong with suggestions or clues you'd love to be married to your man either. I would hate to have said no to a man who loved me so much. But I would hate even more to have asked a man to marry me, who said no....clearly stating he didn't love me.

I was proposed to by a woman once...well, actually more than once and in each occasion, looking back, saying no was a very wise decision!
Personally, I think that if a man really wants you enough to commit for a lifetime, he will and should ask the woman. We're different like that. Let him be the aggressor.

How do I feel about the growing trend of more women proposing?
I say it's about damn time, i'm sick and tired of men having to do all the work.

Wow, I didn't realize that was a growing trend. It sounds fine to me. I probably would not have had the nerve to propose to my husband.

I wouldn't propose, but I have no problem making a direct suggestion that we start thinking about getting married. I did bring it up with my husband after about a year, when I felt like we have waited "long enough"; so we made plans to get married, and were married within 6 months.

I think women need to be more assertive in persuing relationships but when it comes to marriage, she should give the hint. A man would propose when he is ready or may say yes believing if he said no he would lose her.

Oh no I could never do that cause it seems like you want to get married but what if he does not ? I think if women start doing this they are going to get made out to be a fool .

I see nothing wrong with it. I was considering proposing to my boyfriend, but I've decided I'm too old-fashioned for it. Kudos to any woman who does it, though.
