Implantation occurs 7 to 10 days after ovulation, and implantation is when the fetus begins producing pregnancy hormone. So many people get a positive pregnancy test as soon as 10 days post ovulation, however I suggest waiting 12 days after you ovulate to take a pregnancy test. I also suggest going to the Dollar Store and picking up some tests there, they are surprisingly accurate and inexpensive so if you are like me and have no patience you can test all you want without feeling guilty!!! Good Luck and Baby Dust!!

You should wait until the day of your missed period. However, if you take a pregnancy test before then, you may have enough hCG built up that test will produce a faint positive line, if you are pregnant. hCG (Human chorionic gonadotropin) a hormone detected on pregnancy tests, is not produced by the body until the fertilized egg implants to the uterine wall- this typically doesn't occur until 6-8 days after ovulation and the levels of this hormone aren't in high enough amounts to be detected by most pregnancy tests until 12 or more days after ovulation. Note: you will start your period 12-16 days after ovulation.
If you are trying to get pregnant or looking for ways on natural birth control, I recommend the book: "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler

Typically todays tests can read higher levels of HCG, however reading a test to soon may set you up for a hope that the implantation will take place. It can read the fertilized egg before it has reached the uterus and at that time it may NOT choose to implant which means you truly were not pregnant at all.
I highly suggest waiting at least 4 days after your cycle was due. At this time you do NOT need to wait until the morning because you will have given your body enough time to implant really well into the uterus.
Best wishes if you were trying.

You can take a pregnancy test at a clinic as soon as 10 days after you have intercourse. But its more accurate if you wait to see if you miss your period .

after you miss your period normally. I just found out I was pregnant and I took a test 2 days before I was due. It depends on how much hcg is in your system. You can take a blood test at the dr. much sooner. Also, if you are going to take one before your missed period, stick to an early one like first response. They can test up to 5 days before a missed period.

they have new tests on the market now that you can use after a few days of a missed period, and i think they have them you can use before you miss one... first response early detection test is the name and you can buy it anywhere. and if you are, see your doctor. prenatal care is very important, no matter what you are feeling or decide. good luck!
