Cuz it is way bigger in the states than it is here in Canada (might be because I see the people on the show all the fricken time walking around the neighbourhood...)

While I do not know (according to you) why Americans like Degrassi more than Canadians, I do know this: unlike the O.C. and Laguna Beach, Degrassi depicts things the way they are. Everyone knows (and if you don't you should) that Orange County, California is nothing like the way it is shown on the O.C. It is very much the same story for Laguna Beach. Degrassi's characters, plots, and settings are much more realistic than other "teen dramas." The characters are much more like-able (and in some cases, dislike-able) and the things that happen are justified. Furthermore, Degrassi has always been known to have plots that are controversial in the world today.

I watch it and I would still probably watch it if I lived in Canada. It's just a pretty good show and it's short so it doesn't take up a whole hour of my day!! I also love Man Hunter, which I believe is a Canadian show. I saw it there a few times when I was in Vancouver in January and haven't seen it in the states!! Canada just does good TV! ;-)

when i was a kid (in the 80's) degrassi was huge in Canada and not in the states. Why does it matter who likes it, it was a great show (might still be but I have never seen the new ones), and anyone should be able to enjoy it no matter where they live

Im guessing probably.. because how.. over here.. we had the show.. dawsons creek.. and now. since dawsons creek is over . degrassi is most likly the new dawsons creek. it basically is..
both degrassi and dawsons creek have the same problems..

i watch occasionally, but to be honest, its a bit boring. its like the oc to me. i have enough drama in my life and school, i dont want to watch more about it, ya know?

maybe cuz it is corny...
i live in france, and it passes here too... never really liked it.. watched it sometimes because it doesn't necessitate thinking =)
