We are in the Obedience Trial Championship and she always 'misses' about one second before the time is finished. I have tried practising her tricks with her but it doesn't seem to work. Should I tell her to sit or lie down and then wait for as long as possible and then reward her? I usually just reward her when she does the trick straight away. Can someone help me?

Yes, you're supposed to wait before rewarding her in order to increase how long she can hold the trick. Rewarding a dog means you're ending the trick.

Just keep doing what you're doing now. Everytime she does a trick, pet her until the little sparkly things come up. I would repeat that until the little golden bone thingy pops up (make sure you drag that into their mouth!) with every trick.

just keep saying the command over and over until the times over and shes got it done...for example,if your telling her to sit and its for 10 seconds just say " sit sit sit sit sit"etc.etc.. and until the times up and shes got it,just say that as clearly as possible over and over and she should keep doing that trick...sometimes it might not work though...make sure you practice it with her at home so she doesn't forget it and can remeber it more easily when you say it
