Kristen Wiig plays a Target checker with a familiar yet odd accent. She says "Welcome to Terrrrget". Where is the accent suppose to be from?

No, It's not Boston (they would say "Taaaaaahget" without the "rrr"s. Thanks for the answer though. I agree, it is funny no matter what.

Some sort of Northern accent, reminds me of Minnesota?

Edited to add: The first Target opened in Minnesota so that could definitely be it.

I pretty sure the accent is supposed to be a Wisconsin accent or one of the surrounding states. Hope this helps!

I don't think it is really supposed to be a specific accent. I think it just sounds like a mishmash of various southern accents with a little Canadian thrown in.
