I have a usb stick on which i keep secure files with passwords but many times i might need to open them in unsecure places. I'm more worried about there being a keylogger on the computer I am currently opening it on.

So I was wondering if there is a stand alone program, which doesn't require installation, which can detect if any keyloggers are running on the system it is on?

Something preferably small which doesn't take up to much space on a flash drive.

thx

Let's assume for a second that the machine does have a keylogger. If you insert the USB drive and the logger gets your password, what good will it do someone once you remove the USB drive?

Basically, no, you can't detect keyloggers with a quickie program.

And you also can't get around the loggers by using an onscreen keyboard. Most keyloggers will grab those emulated keystrokes too.

I'd suggest that after you use your drive on a machine that is likely to have keyloggers (many public libraries and internet cafe machines do), change your passwords and don't forget to take your drive with you!!!

Greg is correct about encryping your files. It will not prevent a Keylogger from getting them, but they won't be readable.

Once you use an unknown computer, do a Joe says, change your password(s).

nothing like that but you can encript the files to protect them on a xp and above(vista) system. just right click the folder and it should be in properties.
