I got to say the people who write in these forums are retarded and its amazing that they can use a computer at all. To say that the Phillies do not have a shot at even winning their division is laughable. I'm reading. Lets see someone says the Mets have a much better offense. Hmmmm, who lead the NL in runs last year? Ok, another. Mets have a better pitching staff. Do I need to answer this? Its pretty bad when your team is being mentioned with names such as Zambrano (the bad one - Victor) and Ohka to be important parts of your staff. Right now the Mets only have a better bullpen. Ok, Braves? They have more holes then a dude that is stupid enough to go quail hunting with Dick Cheney. 2nd base, 1st base, OF, 3,4 & 5 pitchers, closer? To be honest I wouldn't be shocked if the Marlins put up a better fight - again. Now as for the World Series. The Phillies definately have a shot at the playoffs. Have a shot at the World Series. But like anything else things need to lineup right. From there anything can happen.

The Mets' pitching staff is an injury-prone, fragile Martinez, and a worn-out Glavine. That's the best of the staff, and the rest is a disaster. They might win the wild-card, and that's it.
The Phils , on the other hand, have the best staff in the NL, after the Dodgers, and the everyday lineup can hold their own with any team in the majors.
And for all you Yankee-loving syncophants...give it up. This will be year number seven without a Series title.

I love the Phillies win, lose, or draw. I would wait till the all-star break to start thinking about it. Lets hope they can do it.
Aaron Rowand I hope doesn't get traded since he is pretty good.

resembling any 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, i imagine the Yankees will be favored to win the international sequence. for my area, the Phillies are the finest team contained in the nationwide League, yet i imagine different communities will supply them a difficult time. The Cardinals, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, and Rockies I say are the biggest threats contained in the nationwide League. remember the Mets purely were given Jason Bay. they can provide the Phillies a run contained in the NL East. I say Cardinals-Phillies contained in the NLCS, yet i imagine the Cardinals will come out on proper.

Doubtful.
Mets have a better offense, defense, a starting staff that is near where the phillies are at right now, and the mets have a much better pen.
The phillies will be in the wild card.

The Phils are Choke artists, and still don't have a single dominant pitcher. They have third starters for their top three spots, and lack the depth to win it all. Pat Burrell isn't that good anymmore, and its hard to win with guys like Victorino, Barajas, and Helmes. I think that they will get third behind the oldschool pitching dominated Braves, and the Yankee-eske Mets.

The 4 and 5 starters are iffy...and Cole Hamels is injury-prone. The AL is going to be a tough league again, so I'd say that it's hard to believe the Phillies are the favorites to win it all.

I LOVE THE PHILLIES!!!! idk if we will win the world series this year but we r going 2 be Eastern-division champsions this year.(i think and hope)
yea but the phillies have great hitters--Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Jimmy, Shane is getting there, and Pat Burrell had a bad year this year but past years he was good. we really need some better pitcher though. i mean Cole Hamels is young and is a lefty but his era last year was 4. something. Jamie Moyer has experience, but Wes Helms well actually idk about him. he played 4 a not so great team last year so u can't say that much about him. but yes i also hope the phillies will "win it all". but we will see.

The bullpen is horrible, and the lineup after Howard is sad. Sorry dude the title drought for Philadelphia continues. Mets take the NL East, Cards don't even make the playoffs, and the WS winner comes from the American league.
