I ordered stamps from this company and out of about 200 stamps I recieved only 5 or 6 of them are real. Anyone know anything about this company? Wouldn't this be illegal? Fraud? I have no clue. Has anyone else had any experience with this company? What gives?

I don't remember if they said they were real or not, that's why I can't really do anything about it. I ordered them from the paper, I was a little coupon thing that I mailed in, so I'm not sure exactly how they phrased it. I looked at thier website and I don't see anything about ordering duplicate stamps or anything.

i used to buy stamps from them many years ago. they are a legit company with a good reputation and sell quality collectors stamps. the stamps they send in response to the ads in the papers are indeed real stamps, but they are called "pre cancelled" meaning they are unused stamps that have been cancelled specifically for collecting. they are usually low in value, though some do become valuable over time. if you purchase stamps from a catalog, always make sure to purchase mint (new and uncancelled) stamps or postally used cancelled stamps. mystic allows you to take stamps "on approval" meaning you can get them, look at them, choose what you want to keep and send the rest back with payment. it's a good way to build a collection!

It seems they are not only a legitimate company but they are a well respected company. Even the National Postal Museum mentions them. They have been in business since 1946.

I would suspect that if the stamps were advertised as "real" they should be "real". I remember having a "starter set" of stamps when I was little and the stamps were not "real" stamps, meanin you couldn't use them to mail a letter. They were collectable nonetheless but not very valuable.
