Many people don't know that this is an age-old conspiracy. Thousands of years ago, the cat mafia began an initiative to wipe out everything dog. While they obviously didn't succeed, they did have quite an impact on modern culture; a notable example being the word "catalog."

Easy!... Cat = Short for categorized
Alog = List of things
Catalog is a categorized list of things or items. Hence, Shopping Catalogs. These items are all in a certain category in the catalog, IE... clothes, electronics, toys, hardware, etc.
