I think you will find if you remove the those preconceived and incorrect notions about conservatives, your going to find we do not think global warming is not happening. obviously the climate is changing.
What we know is that Climate change is a natural process. it has been changing forever, and will continue to change forever.
Case in point. Egypt has always had a very desert like climate, however it was much more green and lush 5,000 years ago vs. 1000 years ago vs. today. over time (pre-industrial revolution) the weather patterns have changed. that's the way the planet works. it is a living thing, it changes all the time.
65 million years ago the earth was hotter and wetter then it is now, yet life existed...
I live in Arizona... Arizona was once covered by an ocean.
Yes some of the changes may be because of man, but it does not change the fact that weather patterns are always changing always different from one day to the next.
in the 70's it was global cooling, 600 years ago there was a mini-ice age. 200 years ago a volcano altered weather patterns all over the world and caused one year to be called "the year without a summer" because it was so cold.
Global warming is happening, but it is part of the natural flow. not as some would like us to believe just "big bad governments and big industry".
BTW that's called Science... What Al Gore is talking about is politics. there is a difference.
Huh Funny, a Conservative who studied science and history talkin to a liberal who is using politics...
kinda moots your point, don't you think?

Global warming is still a theory subject to debate. Recent data proves a shift in temperatures has occured over the previous few decades, but it hard to validate a hypothesis based upon the fact that the planet is 5 billion years old, and even with geological data, core samples, etc..., it's just a real small sample of the lifetime of this world. I do agree that humanity has had an adverse effect on the climate within the past 200+ years since the advent of industrialization. I'm a little more worried about that the increase of global population will hit a point in the near future at which this planet will not be able to sustain it.
Bear in mind, that the religious right (I will not group all conservatives together) tends to be very similar to the papacy of the Dark/Middle Ages, at a time when science conflicted with theology. We have had discussions in the past five years regarding creationism -v- evolution. That conflict would invalidate my data suggesting that the Earth was created 5 billion years ago. We have a President that believes that the Rapture will occur. That proves to me that he is indeed insane.

In my case it is because it is not based on science but politics.
Remember the same people talking about Global Warming now were warning of us an impending Ice Age 30 years ago.
You would think that if the entire issue were settled the world would have gotten at least slightly warmer since 1998?
i guess they will say the fact that the world has actually cooled slightly since 1998 is further proof of global warming.
These people can't predict the weather accurately 5 days in advance but we're expected to believe that the know exactly what will happen in 50 years?
then there's this, but i suppose MIT Climatology Professors are just stupid too:

You see all scientists don't agree on Global Warming, in fact it's a small minority that agree, they just have political backing and so are treated as the only real experts

It's not necessarily a "Liberal" or "Conservative" issue. There are plenty of "liberals" who aren't ready to accept that "the sky is falling"...or melting in this case. The Earth has been around much longer than we have been recording climate changes. I can't say for sure whether "global warming" is occurring or not. If it is, no one can state for sure that it's permanent. The one thing I do believe is that Mother Nature can contribute to climate changes more than man can. I can remember not too long ago, when scientists were predicting we were entering a new ice age. So, I'd think twice before we panic too much.

It is because conservatives are intelligent. They know the science does not support human causation. They did not fall for the liberals' global cooling during the 1970's and know that eventually the liberals will be found out as idiots in this global warming via humans very soon. Already, new research is showing that temperature cycles closely follow sun activity, that cows emit a great of carbon dioxide, and more and more.
As more scientists cease to be threatened by the threats of the liberals (stripping certification, imprisonment, denying funding and the right to publish), more and more scientific support for non-human causation will be reported.
It is truly frightening how the "party of liberty" wants to strip the freedoms of anyone who dares question their propaganda.

Most conservatives know that Global Warming is happening, they just don't believe it is people are causing it. This is because of the lack of evidence towards man-made global warming.

I trust pegminer basically on the AGW being a political situation, the question is barely political as a results of fact politicians have desperate to realize this on it. interior the top, the technological know-how heavily isn't settled by means of politicians, yet by means of scientists. further learn and commentary will the two coach the AGWers actual or grossly incorrect. My guess is they are actual that guy has a splash effect on the factors, yet they are way off on the quantity of replace that we are able to influence. the situation comes once you settle for fashions over commentary. Accepting the hockey stick, devoid of regard for the actuality that the hockey stick has on no account shown actual for the final 10 years is silly. Now mutually as i will agree that 10 years isn't something to base a decision on, i might additionally advise that 30 years isn't something to base a decision on the two. Our actual quantity of pronounced information is small and pathetic in appreciate to what we are attempting to envision. the actuality that has been claimed by means of the AGWer camp is on no account warranted. we are relatively melding categories of information from many diverse places amassed many diverse techniques and pretending like it relatively is all solid standardized information. That being pronounced, it relatively is hard to overlook relating to the political section whilst the ex-vice chairman makes a blanket medical assertion that the technological know-how is settled. Now no longer something ought to be farther from the actuality, yet he's a flesh presser and an fool besides, so what might one anticipate? as a techniques as a results of fact something of what pegminer says, i detect it relatively obnoxious idiocy to shrink all people who disagree AGW to be extremely-actual wing conservatives. in actuality i'm completely against the AGWers and voted for Obama interior the final election. I voted for him as a results of his stance on Iraq, abortion, gay marraige and so forth. regrettably, we are nevertheless in Iraq and that i might choose to make certain him artwork on construction the financial gadget, no longer destroying it with cap and commerce.

The earth is warming and it's all our fault according to our lame media. So to fix it, we should all be taxed to death. Or maybe, if big oil didn't have control of our leaders, we could get some serious alternatives for fuel instead of wasting billions in the middle east so we can invest in new technology.

Because the earth has changes in temperature. Changes that anyone with a brain and 15 minutes can verify. The idea that we have to become a third world crap hole is looney and those that state such should be locked away.
BTW, do you drive a car or use anything based on oil and gas? Of course you do, hypocrite.

Wow, I think you have some good insights there.
Also, I've noticed conservatives seem to think it's cool to 'upset liberals' imagining liberals handwringing or mouthfrothing at the very notions conservatives hold.
I think a large part is also that they know have to face that they were knee-jerk pro-big business anti-science, anti-environment. They have to face that they sided with the folks who are killing them for profit. It's hard to admit these things. (It's why we still have religion, too, no?)
Why is it that the only scientists who say global warming isn't manmade (remember they used to deny its existance outright) are those paid with petrodollars. If there were independent scientists who argued against it, there'd still be debate.
