Too soon to tell. But in all likely hood it isn't about stabilizing Iraq at all. The big money in Vegas is that we will attack Iran before summer and that this build up is just part of the plan. There are other signs that I see, like moving another fleet into the Gulf and the doubling of the strategic oil reserves. Sending troops to Iraq is just a cover.

It's failing. 21,000 new troops aren't going to make a dent. BTW, if by chance they do improve life for Iraqis in the entire country and manage to stop the raging war, I will vote Republican for the first time in my life just to eat my words. But I am very confident that the Bush family failure will live up to his expectations of more failure.
