Actually, it's more likely the other way around.

I'm a Yankee lifer but I'm not looking to rip on any other fans. Baseball is a sport, an escape from real life. Everyone can cheer and boo who they want and good natured bragging and ribbing is part of that. Yet, it seems many "non-Yankee" fans are hateful toward the Yankee fans and get too personal without just focusing on the teams. They claim Yankee fans are pompous (which some are)...but the reality is that those who like to make such complaints (usually consisting of BoSox fans) are ignorate, jealousy, and don't know how to enjoy the sport maturely either. I would even venture to call them hypocritics because those individuals would surely behave the same way as the Yankee fans who are arrogant if their teams showed the same type of consistent success as the Yankees have over the years. The Yankees didn't have great success during the 80's but the fans were always passionate, it wasn't until they finally started winning again that other fans started the hating.

No. They are smart and enlightened. They easily recognize a second rate team such as the Yankees who this year will come in third in their division behind Boston and Toronto. It's the Yankee fans who live in the past and don't realize the depths to which the Yankees have fallen.

Yankees being the richest and most winning team just get that many more bandwagon fans. Other teams probably have a higher concentration of true blue fans.

Not really, except for our rivals. I am a Yankee fan and I acknowledge that there are fans who don't come from New York that are fans of their teams. Only the fans who chant Yankees suck are retarded. As long as they don't put down the Yankees, it is fine. If they do, then they are retarded.

I think this is the single most dumb question ever asked on here. I don't like the yankees does that make me retarded? When a team shells out all kinds of money and still can't get passed the first round of the playoffs, that is pathetic. I think anyone who would ask this question is retarded. That is all.

No. Yankee fans living in Boston may need their heads examined though. If you are going to live outside of New York and be a Yankee fan, try Tampa or Kansas City. Now that football is over, the airwaves in New England are clogged with the Red Sox (and the beanpot tournament). Just deal with it or it will be a very long Spring, Summer and Fall for you. Especially with the Yankees finishing behind the Red Sox in 2007 for the first time in recent memory.

Us non-yankee fans are actually the more intelligent species, cuz we're not FOLLOWERS! We have minds of our own and do not feel the need to like a so called team because others tell us to.

Not at all.
Now I am not sure where you are from, so that could be influencing your thoughts.
I am not a Yankee fan, and never have been. I am a Californian. I generally do not like New York based teams. I also believe that the Yankees represent power corporations and conformity. As an individualist non-conformist, I don't identify with them at all.
I also do not like the Yankee uniforms. I don't like navy blue, I don't like pinstripes, and I don't like the no names on the uniforms.
Also Yankee owner George Steinbrenner is not a man that you can easily like. He is a bully, and uses money to buy his way into success.
