It seems like there have been a lot of bands in the past few years or so that have tried to sound a lot like Green Day...but really come off as more of a poppier, more commercial version of Green Day - Green Day lite if you will - and sound kind of crappy, in my personal opinion.
If you don't mind putting something on your MySpace profile that is a little bit older (like about 10 years old) there are a lot of good punk rock songs that you could use from other bands that first made it big about the same time that Green Day did....like Rancid, the Offspring, or Goldfinger.

ok go- they're the ones from the treadmill video, but no one really knows any of their other songs, which are very good. I recomend Do What You Want form the album Oh No.

red jumpsuit apparatus? i like them a lot and so far havent heard any thing about them being big. but once i start to like a band they become very well known, so i wont be surprised if they do too.
