This will tell you without relying on windoze tools (crappy half-hearted attempts) or having to buy partition magic for $50.

If you are running Microsoft Windows 2000/XP, the simplest thing to do is bring up the Computer Management Console (Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management). From that, navigate the tree on the left side and select Disk Management. Each physical disk will be displayed in the pane on the right, toward the bottom. If a physical device is partitioned, it should be pretty obvious from the display and you can click each partition to see if it has a file system (volume) created on it.

Select Start>Control Panel, select Administrative Tools, select Computer Management, highlight Disk Management. The bottom half of the right side of the screen will show you your drives.
Look at each line. For instance:
Disk 0 (if there is one box then it's one partition, if there are two boxes then there are two partitions on the disk C: & D:).

Open the computer and see how many hard drives there are in it physically. Then power up machine and go to Start/my computer and look to see how many hard drives there are. If the computer drive has been partitioned then there will be more hard drives showing than there are physically in the computer

Windows is not soo good at showing you stuff that it doesnt know. I think the best way is if you know the max cap. of your drive and see it if matches with my comp capacity.
IF you dont know, try going to www.ubuntu.com download the linux cd ( you dont need to install it, its alive cd, no possible harm ) reboot with the live cd, and ask linux ( similar to windows interface ) to check the HDD for size it will show all partitions for definite.
Happy hunting!
