After i had terminated my job contract, i was sent to "garden leave" during my month notice period. I did not get salary for that and they say it was a mistake of their 3-rd party accounting office and that i will get paid next month.

well employer apologize but say they cant pay me now as this accounting office can do that only next month - i dont believe that as it sounds stupid and seems an excuse to delay the payment. can i do anything ?

They can not just say that to you.If you want you can tell them you will go to court if they dont pay you.i dont know exactly where you from but there is Employment relations law in every country. So just tell them i have contacted a solicitor and they said i am legally entitled to this salary. If you dont pay within next 15 days i will have to suit a case. That definitely should work.Best of luck.

You could complain, but it sounds like they will have paid you before your complaint would be heard.

In theory, if you suffer bank charges or other detriment as a result of their failure, you could seek redress for any loss through the civil courts. In the first instance that would be through the small claims court.

Tell them that you will be taking the matter to small claims court and the Better Business Bureau if you are not compensated by 12 noon Friday.

They are wrong and you are right. However, by the time you hire an attorney, they will have paid you and you will have no case anymore.
