The Swamp Rose (Rosa setigera) is purportedly easy to grow; easier than regular roses. Antiqueroseemporium.com sells them and they have a good description and a picture of the small flowers. I believe it blooms once a year, in the late spring only.

Please go up to your web search and type in swamp rose and you'll see pictures. It is a rose bush that is native to the east and south. It likes to grow near water and can grow in poorly draining soil, like to have its roots wet in other words. It can also grow in normal soil.
