Do not use a heavy flow type of tampon. The longer the tampon is in you, the more problems will arise. I have a very heavy flow and use Playtex GentleGlide Regular. And do not wear the tampons over night. Use a pad during the night. Also, sometimes, it is helpful to stand up a bit when inserting (not sitting completely-squating instead). Hope this is of use.

What exactly do you mean uncomfortable? When you are inserting them or after that or when you are taking them out?

I'd say you might not be inserting them correctly, or far enough, or perhaps they are too large. If you are uncomfortable during insertion, then you need to relax. I'd advise the plastic ones, but you are already using that. If you don't insert them deep enough, then it'll be be uncomfortable as well. I can't tell you other than what's on the instructions. I tend to push the applicator until my fingers on the grip part just touch myself. Then push the thing in. I've never had a problem. When inserted far enough, you shouldn't really feel them. Try also temporarily using a super or regular and change often to see if the discomfort goes away. You may be using one too large.

Other than that, go to you doctor to make sure there's nothing wrong with your parts.

Yeah, you might not be putting them in far enough or on a good angle...I have tried several brands and Tampax Pearls to me are the best as far as insertion, comfort and overall protection.
If you can feel it inside you, it either is not pushed in far enough or it's just too big. You might have to use a small absorbtion and change it more frequently...
isn't being a woman great???

I only use OB without the applicator. I know its kinda gross at first but I found that I can only get it in right with these. I have been using them for over 10 years and I love em. They have Super Plus and Super. I use both.

I used to use Kotex tampons for my heavy flow. The applicators are plastic. And the tampon stays in place.

Good Luck.

Try Super Soakies (the ones with the rubber corks). Those should solve your comfortability issues.

I think it is all about insertion. Is it possible you're not relaxing when you insert it & it not being inserted far enough?
