Transfer any fish to another tank and driank the tank with the water spots. Then give it a good wipe down with white vinegar. The vinegar will disolve the minerals that are spotting the glass without the harsh chemicals.. Make sure you rinse it well before setting the tank back up so the Ph level doesn't get thrown off.

Scrape it with a razor blade. That way, you don't have to remove your fish. Do not use any kind of chemical cleaner. It's deadly. Never heard of the mayo thing, but maybe it would work, but seems to me it would foul the water, even if you took the fish out, and you'd have to replace all the water anyway. I scrape with a razor blade. Of course, you couldn't do that if you had an acrylic tank, but if it's glass, scrape away!

believe it or not, mayo will get a ring of water off a coffee table and glass. just make sure you fish are out of the aquarium... unless you plan on eating them too...

some pet stores have what is called a magna float one piece goes on the inside and one goes on the outside to clean the glass i think this will be very very helpful they are usually about 15 dollars
