I need to get a Canadian passport for the beginning of March, I just found out. I was wondering if anyone has been to the Sinclair Centre lately and tried to get one. How long was the line? Did they say how long the passport would take? Anyone know the best time to go?

I got my passport at Sinclair Centre..

it was a ZOO..

.. and that was before the big rush on account of US rule changes (november).

my advice - get there EARLY - as soon as they open (7:30), go straight to reception and get your number ticket - at that point they'll give you an idea how long your wait will be.. I made sure I had other downtown errands that day, ran them came back a couple of hours later and STILL had to wait..

good luck

ps.

you should go NOW - it might even be too late as they have been backlogged since the US rules - I imagine you might need to pay a rush to get your passport in time for early March..

GO NOW!

In Edmonton my friend went at 7am but did not get in that day (got a number for the next day at 4:30pm)
people are waiting at 2am and selling their place in line!

there are 25 business days DELAYS over the regular 20 business days

GO EARLY, make sure you have ALL your paperwork filled out correctly, PAY the extra $70 to get a rush on your passport (you MIGHT get in for March)

at this time the waiting to have a passeport send backis 30-35 days so there no way you will get it for the beggining of march unless you have a major reason like family death emergencies
i worked for canada custom and we are 60% over the regular amount of passeport a day we are getting 21,000 applications a day so i can say good luck applied and fedex it maybe you will getit for the 16 but not before

Go first thing in the morning and bring a chair, book and an Ipod. It may take ALL day. No joke, the last person i knew it took 7 1/2 hours.

Volume Increase

Passport Canada is experiencing a sharp volume increase in passport applications in all of its offices, by mail and through its receiving agents. Please note that we are also experiencing, up to 25 business days delays, in addition to our service standards when delivering your new passport. Not sure you would get it For March.
